What is Terminal?

Stripe Terminal is an easy-to-use solution that allows you to extend Stripe payments to your point of sale. It’s fully integrated with the Stripe and Sirvoy platforms and uses pre-certified card readers that are ready to go out of the box, so you can start accepting payments right away.

Who is Terminal for?

Terminal is ideal for any accommodation accepting in-person payments, ranging from the humblest B&B to the largest hotel chains.

How does it work?

Stripe Terminal’s pre-certified readers accept payment details (EMV, contactless, and swiped), encrypt sensitive card information, and return a token so you can confirm payment. You can order readers and accessories from the Stripe Dashboard and get them shipped to a location of your choice.

Why do I need Terminal?

Despite a boom in ecommerce, 90% of purchases still take place offline. Your guests want the ability to pay in person, and by offering it to them, you can deliver better experiences and grow your revenue.

However, there are also challenges inherent to adding an in-person payments system. Some of these include getting your system certified (a process that can take up to six months), meeting compliance and security requirements, integrating your online and in-person systems, and maintaining your brand across multiple channels. Which card reader does Sirvoy support?

Sirvoy supports Stripe’s WisePOS E reader, manufactured by BBPOS.

The WisePOS E reader is an Android-based smartPOS hybrid countertop/handheld reader with a 5-inch display. It supports PIN on glass and connects over a local network via Wi-Fi (ethernet connectivity requires the dock accessory). With a full charge, the reader battery lasts about eight hours.

  • Cards (magstripe, chip, and contactless)
  • Mobile Wallets (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay)


Can I customize my card readers?

Customizing your card readers ensures that your customers get a consistent brand experience whether they pay online or in-person. With the BBPOS WisePOS 3, you can customize the splash screen on your readers with your own logo and messaging. This can be done via your Stripe Dashboard.
